Merle Oberon, who’ll have her “Summer Under the Stars” day on Tuesday, Aug. 25, is one of those actresses I’d say unjustly suffered (and continue to suffer) from the Marion Davies Syndrome.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is featuring a day of actress Merle Oberon on Tuesday, August 25, 2009; as part of the TCM Summer Under the Stars. Merle Oberon achieved fame after being cast as Anne Boleyn in the Private Live of Henry VIII, by Alexander Korda, who she later married.
The two women, expertly played by Merle Oberon and Miriam Hopkins, are both attracted to a young doctor played by Joel McCrea.
