Dhani Harrison (born 1 August 1978) is an English musician and the son of George Harrison of The Beatles. Harrison debuted as a professional musician when completing his father’s final album Brainwashed after George Harrison’s death in November 2001.[1] Harrison formed his own band, thenewno2, in 2006. Dhani Harrison will be one of the guests on “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” Tuesday on NBC in the U.S. (Check your local listings for the correct time.)
“I’m proud of The Beatles’ legacy,” Dhani Harrison said from Los Angeles. “When I brought the project to ‘Rock Band,’ I thought it was a great way to showcase the technology I love and The Beatles. It’s our responsibility to keep their music fresh for young people.”
Lollapalooza is always full of surprises, but the last thing I imagined would happen on Saturday was that I would be walking backstage with Dhani Harrison – yes, son of late Beatle George Harrison – and listening to him lovingly, and I must say, quite capably, busting some Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Method Man rhymes on the way to an exclusive acoustic set. Harrison is here with his band, Thenewno2, who played earlier in the day to an enthusiastic noon crowd that lapped up their raga-fueled trippy rock tunes.
